ASSALAMUALAIKUM~ ^^
Hello readers! :D
Me, can't wait for next week as I can go back home, spend my 'ample' time there and eat tempoyak as many as I want. HAHA. So, buckle up guys with full of beneficial activities during this time. Don't let time flies without you really use it and you end up regretting it. Huh.
Anyway, I came across a nice quotation by Thomas Jefferson which is a US President. He said that:
"The man who reads nothing at all is better educated than the man who reads nothing but newspapers."
So, what is your opinions about this quote? Ok, this is my short entry about it.
For me, to some extend I do not really agree with that statement as for me newspaper has its own ways to educate people. Listen, this is my personal point of view regarding this.
By reading newspapers, we will be updated with the current issues as for now the issue about striking on Gaza by Israellians keep on playing. From newspapers, we actually know what really happens around the globe. Especially, students like me where you have no time to watch Buletin or anything related to it from the idiot box. Plus, newspaper is one of the effective sources to get any information as it is easily to access.
Next, man who reads newspapers is broaden-minded compared to man who reads nothing at all. In a way, reading newspapers will shape you to think critically and teach you to read between the line. As for me, not all newspaper's sections always provoke on the issues of artists or political matters. This is where you need to evaluate every sentences and statements of the news to ensure the reliability. Sort out any information that is bias-based. Hence, this will teach you to master in summarization and thus, you are able to prioritize the priority.
As what Thomas Jefferson said, I want to emphasis on the man who reads nothing but newspapers. So, here, the importance of not to depend on one source only, for instance, newspaper itself. You actually have to refer from a myriad of sources in order to get the most reliable and accurate info.
So, it is actually the matter of yourself. Some people may compare the newspapers as a piece of junk paper that provides unnecessary issues. To some extend, it does. However, in this millennium era, it is a paramount for you to master the skill of analyzing and evaluating any information provided. Because all things have its pros and cons. Only you have the power to control yourself.
Anyway, don't too fast to believe in rumors. But, at the same time, don't hastily put it aside. Find the source first and ensure the reliability of the information.
Kalau tak ada angin, masakan pokok bergoyang~
